Home court
Ashley Chea is a Cambodian American basketball phenom. HOME COURT, filmed over three years, is a coming-of-age story that relays the highs and lows of her immigrant family, surmounting racial and class differences, as well as personal trials that include a devastating knee injury. Despite the intensity of basketball recruiting, Ashley’s humor shines through and her natural talent inspires the support of those around her.

Erica Tanamachi, Director
Erica Tanamachi's (Director) most recent film, "Winn", premiered at the 2022 Atlanta Film Festival and won a Reel South Shorts Award, Special Jury Mention, and distribution deal with PBS. "Winn" also won "Best Short Documentary" from the 2022 Justice on Trial Film Festival. Erica was Creative Producer for the feature documentary "Motherload" (2019) which garnered the HERO award from Better Cities Film Festival and "Best International Documentary" from the Hollywood North Film Awards. She also won "Best Documentary" from The Sonoma Film Festival, Silverlake Film Festival, and The Documentary Foundation for her short documentary, "Living Poets." Erica is an MFA Cinema graduate of San Francisco State University (2007) and has been producing and directing independent documentaries for over 17 years.

Jean Kawahara
Jean Kawahara (Editor) is a documentary film editor drawn to stories that explore identity, champion underdogs, and challenge the status quo. Her independent film credits include the feature documentaries, Belly of the Beast, Blessed Child, T-Rex, Point of No Return, City of Borders, Yank Tanks, Of Civil Wrongs and Rights: The Fred Korematsu Story, the short documentary, Futbolistas 4 Life, and the narrative feature, Nail Polish. Her short documentary work has been featured in the New York Times and New Yorker. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley and a Master’s degree in Ethnic Studies from San Francisco State University.

Jenn Lee Smith, Producer
Jenn Lee Smith (Producer) immigrated from Taiwan to rural Utah and later lived in California's Latinx and Asian ethnoburbs. She is a queer filmmaker and supporter of underrepresented narrative and documentary films such as "Mija" (2022), "The Dilemma of Desire" (2020), "Jane and Emma" (2018), and LGBTO+ films "Valentine" (2022), "Pray Away" (2021), and "Faithful"(2017), which was shortlisted for a BAFTA Student Film Award. As part of Re-Present Media's Re-Take Oakland program, Jenn Lee directed a short documentary on one community activist's decades-long work to bring tennis to the underserved. She is the founder of Bewilder Films, a production company dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices.
